Wahala! 28 People Die At a Catholic Adoration Ground-click for Details

A stampede occured at the Holy Ghost Adoration Ground, Uke, Idemili North LGA of Anambra State yesterday, Nov 2. The stampede has left no fewer than 28 persons dead as at the time of filing this report.

According to PUNCH news the incident happend after governor Peter Obi, Willie Obiano-APGA governorship candidate and chief Victor Umeh left the arena after gracing the all-night adoration program. The venue of the incident was said to be habouring about 100 thousand people while the facilities was meant for only 5000.

The cause of the stampede is still a mystery. Even the spiritual director and owner of the Holy Ghost Adoration ground-Rev. Fr. Emmanuel Obinma, a Catholic priest popularly called Ebube Mmuonso (the glory of the Holy Ghost) said he cannot explain the cause of the stampede at least for now.

Hundreds of people were merely injured while 28 have been confirmed dead. It is a pity! May there soul rest in peace! Amen.
